Dominiic and Kiera Rozier were at their final stop in gathering supplies for a birthday last Wednesday.

The Jeffersontown Kroger had cupcakes and food that would complete the celebration of their son’s birthday, which was that same day — Oct. 24.

But when the couple walked up to the store’s entrance, a person warned them to not enter. Then they heard gunfire.

Before the Roziers could retreat too far, a man walked slowly out of the store and approached an older woman talking on the phone not far from the Roziers.
