Black Restaurant Week to showcase culinary diversity | The Philadelphia Tribune The culinary contributions of Black-owned restaurants will be showcased during the upcoming Philadelphia Black Restaurant Week.

The concept, which originated in Houston, celebrates the flavor of African, African-American and Caribbean cuisines.

“I wanted to do something to really highlight the culinary community from the African diaspora,” said Warren Luckett, the founder of Black Restaurant Week, LLC.

The week from June 11-17 features signature events and special menus at participating eateries, including Booker’s Restaurant and Bar, Bistro 870 Restaurant and Lounge, Dahlak, Haute Restaurant, Star Fusion, Tasties, Just To Serve You, Too, Azzaam’s Soul and Grill and Rose Petals Café and Lounge.
